Joanna Rennwanz is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology at the Polish Academy of Sciences, specialising in archaeobotany. She studies the role of plants in prehistory and their symbolic meanings in funerary contexts and is involved in the Western Pomeranian Crypt Project, investigating plant remains from the Second World War mass graves.
